Hublot Mag Bang II Review

By: KIH (registered) Saturday, February 4th, 2012 - Photo Nav: View All 2 photo(s)

Mag Bang model was introduced in 2007.  This is the second version of it.  Not too often featured anywhere, so I saw it at the Boutique, it caught my eyes immediately.  Apparently, not LE model.

Background of Mag Bang of 2007 - "3M" was the theme of 2007 - Mono-material, Monochrome, Mono-finish.  Mono-material means that to use the same material for Case, Bezel, and Movement.  Monochrome is of course the same color for the case, bezel and dial.  Mono-finish means to use the micro blast finish for the case and bezel.  The total weight of Mag Bang was 78g - not hugely light in today's standard, but in the Big Bang range, certainly extremely light, yet the case is hard enough.

Hublotnium is the alloy of Magnesium and Aluminum.

Quality problems...

Hello. I bought this watch this last November (my third Hublot), few weeks after using it, the upper chrono buttom got loose and it finally fell... I tried to return it to the store, and they convinced me to take a new one, same model, brand new... I started to wear this second watch mid-January.  Few weeks after, around the second week of February, the exact same problem happenned to the second watch, the upper buttom of the chrono fell!!!  I am very dissapointed, and the only response that I am getting from the store is that they will help me to "expedite" the service and they will do me the great favor of getting it "free of charge"....
