There are limits e.g. Richard Mille vs Tissot

Rei,
I think it should NOT be mandatory for employees to wear their product but they should get a staff discount if they want.
Even the highest discount like at cost price of expensive brands like Richard Mille would be out of reach of workers, even highly paid watchmakers.
If the brand makes a lower price product like Tissot with many models, a good discount means most watches are affordable to the workers.
It also very much depends on the in-house pride and culture.
Most Swiss brands actually employ between 30 - 77% foreign employees (usually French) so cultivating community pride is not based on Nationalism or local sharing of the wealth that the factory brings to the town.
In a small town like Glashütte or Dresden, where, the workers are also local residents, it is easier to understand community spirit as even the fishmonger benefits from the watch factory. I saw even high priced Glashütte Original watches on German wrists at the factory.
The other thing is not everyone is enamoured by watches.
For most people, it is a tool and maybe an accessory for special occasions. Did you know that most people have only one watch...maybe two at most?!? They don't need another watch if they change employer brand.
I guess if I worked for a tractor brand, I would not buy one whatever discount they offered to employees!
Regards,
