special Hublot Dutch Classic Fusion edition

Feb 15, 2015,10:39 AM

It should have been at the AD just before Christmas, but it was a little delayed. Hublot apparently forgot to number the watches. And being (of course) a limited edition series of 25 pieces in total it's nice to have it numbered. So they had to be shipped back, but now they are there.

(sorry- iphone pics only)

What does make it Dutch? The second hand is in orange-gold. I must say I like the combination of the rubber strap (inside) and brown croco on the outside. It makes the watch sporty/chic. The size isn't to bad as well. 45 mm in diameter. Wish it would have been 42 / 43 mm, but it's not too much.

The only thing I really do not like is the finish of the movement and the way the chrono works. At least not for the price asked. A closed case-back would have been my preference. Than they could have even be tacky and engrave the skyline of Amsterdam on it (or something similar) and that would have been better than this open case-back. There is not really much to see apart from a simple not nice finished movement. The chronograph doesn't feel super solid while operating it, but I guess I'm a bit spoiled with the Nautilus.

Nevertheless this is the first Hublot I'm considering buying....

I very much like the face of the watch, as well as the strap - which I bought for my CF as well !! I share the same opinions regarding finishing of the movement vs price. However, it was not an option for me not to buy it - the design of Hublot is simply ...

Definitely looks great on your wrist.

While you will not confuse it with your Nautilus, it is a different kind of piece that looks utterly fun to wear. I tried on the same piece in the gold case and it haunts me more than I would like! Keep us posted, I hope you get it ;-)

I like it!

and going back for another fitting. But still in doubt over the entire package so to speak (price/quality). For half the price of the Dutch version I can also get a Classic Fusion Chrono Opalin. And for only a really small amount more a King gold version ...

Well, there are a couple of nice CF Chrono versions around...

The Dutch edition is really very nice (althogh I would stick to the brown strap insead of an orange one ;-). My main concern would be the size: do you like the 42 or the 45mm model better on your wrist? Over the longterm this might be the most important q...

If I deside to buy it. In any case: thank you for your personal interest! Sadly the AD got robbed under gunpoint last Saturday (around the time I had an appointment but I ran late thank god) so obviously I did not get the chance of trying it out a second ...
