Geneva Week - Hublot Big Bang Unico Magic Gold

Jan 27, 2015,11:34 AM

After the announcement of Magic Gold back in 2011 and the limited edition Ferrari Magic Gold, Hublot has been quite quiet on the release of another watch with magic gold… until now!

I have to open by saying that I love this watch! Technically it is nothing new, but for me I think this is best edition of the Big Bang Unico out there, the contrast between the magic gold bezel and the ceramic is just stunning. I already know that I would prefer this to an all magic gold version of the same watch (if it was every launched), just because it looks so striking. The gold bezel, the numerals and small touches just ooze a classy watch and what I think in future will be a real iconic piece for the brand. Normally when you buy a gold watch the first thing that get scratched it the bezel as has first contact generally with a surface, of course this has been overcome so think in 10 years time you will still have a watch that looks new, something similar to my first all ceramic Big Bang bought almost 10 years ago!

The best news is that it is not a limited edition, just limited by production so a piece available to all… is this a negative?  Not really in my opinion as it will be the Big Bang Unico to own and will be on many wish lists for years to come...

Now for the pictures…

The same beautiful (in house) Unico movement

and on the wrist...

Looks AWESOME on you! Also good that it is not an LE, so it will remain available for a while.

Wonderful news!

.. can't wait to see this in person! Magic Gold has been really quiet for sure. May I assume that its production is now smooth? Great that it is not LE which would be sold out quickly :-) Nice shots, Andrew! Ken

New machines...

They had 2 new machines installed at the manufacture recently to speed up the process of milling the magic gold. These of course are a lot easier to produce than the whole case of the Ferrari, I believe with the old machine it was only 2 cases a week! I l...

Nice, but I much prefer the Ferrari Bang Magic Gold. That'd be an awesome watch to own.

Also Hublot can put its red ceramic to use for its watches... Maybe in Basel? :)

Thanks Andrew

I am very much looking forward to other "magic" material mixes, like Aluminium -Ceramics! Hence, will they show something in this direction at Baselworld?
