Hublot Geneva Days 2015 - Classic Fusion Aero Moon

Jan 24, 2015,09:45 AM

Well it has taken a while for Hublot to release a moonphase watch and I think they have produced a really stunning edition which is for me one of the top watch releases from Geneva this year!   I can easily see this as being a top seller for Hublot in the Classic Fusion range due to the wearability of the case on a daily basis, coupled with the complexity of the dial and the stunning moon phase hidden behind a sapphire night sky.

As announced, It has been released in 2 different case materials being either the King Gold or the Titanium and to be honest it is a difficult choice between the 2, perhaps with me favouriting the gold version due to the contrast with the dial.

I will let the photos do the talking…

The moons and dial close up are stunning

Setting pushers on each side:

The only negative I find is turning over the watch to find a very basic movement (HUB1131) and an uninspiring rotor. I think more could have been made of this to match the wonderful dial design, this is just something personal and I am sure it will not put off many people from a purchased.

Dial side of this Hublot looks good

And agree with the comments that the movement on the caseback side is too basic. Would have been nicer with different style rotor and decorations on the movement. Regards, ED-209

Open dial, yet...

... legible enough, I think. I like this white metal version. Nice on your wrist, too, Andrew! Ken

Interesting for sure. Any concerns about the legibility?

Thanks for the live photos Andrew. I like these open dial Classic Fusions, and this moon phase version is certainly interesting. Certainly a different take on a moon phase watch. The rotor is indeed disappointing from the standpoint of missed opportunity....

Thanks Michael!

I think the king gold version is certainly better due to the difference between the hands and the dial. I wouldn't say no to either, but think this is also the reason I liked the gold version as it had more contrast and depth between the case, dial, date ...

Valid points.

A black ceramic case will offer additional contrast. I am generally a fan of solid casebacks on all watches unless the movement is worthy of admiration. I think there is nothing wrong with a manufacturer using a solid caseback, and on this watch, I would ...

All right! Very interesting!

I have been very much interested in this model since the announcement. And it is also nice that they made this "open edition". I am looking forward to handling it soon! Thanks, Andrew! Ken

I like it a lot
