PoT October 2014 – Hublot factory tour – 3rd part

Oct 22, 2014,11:28 AM

Dear PuristS,

This is the third part of the Hublot factory tour report, where I'd like to share pictures regarding the very "heart" of our tour: the departments where the UNICO movement and the other creations are manufactured and those where the watches are assembled and inspected. You can find the first part here  and the second part here.

I think that one of the main goal Hublot has achieved in organizing such a factory tour was the surprise of seeing Hublot as a serious Manufacture. Don’t get me wrong, please: not that I wasn’t aware of the very strong novelties with in-house movements Hublot has released during the last years, but one thing is to read about them, another thing is to look with your eyes all those machineries, all those men and women proudly at work and the overall effort in making everything as good as possible. And it’s not finished: beside the factory we’ve visited, a big plant is actually on advanced construction state. This new building is not meant to increase the production - since we were told that they are currently close to the targeted maximum numbers. Hublot “simply” wants to realize in the future as much components as possible under the same roof. It’s a clear vision and a strong commitment. And Hublot wants that watch collectors and the entire industry, pay the deserved attention to them not only as an Avant-Garde Brand but as a leading Manufacture. That said, I’m very curious about the proposal that will come from Hublot in the next years. More, I will observe them with very high expectations! Please, don’t disappoint me, Mr. Guadalupe!!! J

So, I’ve mentioned the UNICO movement. Let’s read what’s on the Hublot catalogue about it.

And now, let’s take a look at the pictures, starting from the UNICO manufacturing.

I'm sorry, it seems that the description of the UNICO movement (from the Hublot catalogue) is missing. Here it is: The incorporation of the various production stage into the Manufacture since spring 2009 has enabled Hublot to produce the UNICO chronograph...

Amazing

The movement of LaFerrari is really astounding. Maybe... we should call it "engine" rather than "movement"??? Ciao, Elio
