Yann Denes' exhibition at the Hublot boutique in Paris

A few weeks ago, the Hublot boutique in Paris - Place Vendôme organized an exhibition to display drawings and paintings from the French artist Yann Denes. Yann Denes is graduated from the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Toulon. When he left his school, he decided to dedicate his skills and his talent only  to  the racing cars which proudly bear the prancing horse. So it became obvious for the Hublot boutique that something had to be set up due to the strong partnership between the watch brand and the italian racing team.

Moreover, in order to reinforce this Ferrari atmosphere, Amalgam, which is an English company specialized in the creation of hand-made cars models, lent several "small" Ferrari for the exhibition.

As you can understand it, the Hublot boutique was during several days a true candies store for adults!

And I would not like to forget to mention that for this occasion, a prototype of the MasterPiece LaFerrari (aka the MP-05) was also available at the Boutique in order that the guests and visitors could handle such intriguing watch.

Let's browse the pictures I took during the last day of the exhibition... better late than never!

The different frames were spread in different displays:

One of the Amalgram models:

I love this one:

I couldn't miss this opportunity to put on my wrist the prototype of the first version of the MP-05! It is actually a very surprising watch. It looks very bulky and it is because its size is generous: 45,8 x 39,5mm with a thckness of 15,3mm. But it is comfortable when put on the wrist thanks to the very flexible rubber strap: the watch doesn't move even if you shake your wrist. But the case height remains and don't expect to wear this watch under your sleeve.

It is not the purpose of this watch to be hidden. Beyond the technical performances of the watch (a power reserve of 50 days with a 3hz frequency, a vertical tourbillon cage, the use of 637 components...), it is a true aesthetic achievement.

Why? Simply because thanks to the 11 barrels, we really have the feeling to have a racing engine on the wrist, a true machine!

The watch follows the idea of a timepiece which would have been created by motor engineers rather than by watchmakers. And in the context of the partnership with Ferrari, the MP-05 symbolizes this meeting point between two universes.

The left side is dedicated to the power reserve display while the time is indicated on the right:

The back of the movement:

Don't you have the feeling to observe pistons? The main asset of this watch is its coherence with the motor racing world.

Of course, it is not the easiest watch to wear due to its size. But the titanium case makes it lighter than expected.

Of course, its originality makes it very surprising. But on the other hand, it is one of the most fascinating Hublot watches of the last years.

I would like to thank a lot the Hublot Boutique team for the warm welcome. They gave the proof that exhibitions can be organized inside the  Boutique without any problem even if the lay-out of the premises is not that easy for this purpose. So, what's next? smile
