Let's have a look at the Classic Fusion Aero Chronograph

I recently had the opportunity to try on Hublot's Classic Fusion Aero Chronograph in "18K King Gold".  The watch is listed as 45mm and uses a self winding skeleton chronograph movement with a 42 hour power reserve.

I have always enjoyed cases with multiple types of finishing.  Nowadays, it is very popular of course to find watches that mix and match many different materials.  Hublot is quite known for this "fusion" of materials, but there certainly is something powerful about a single case material that is well finished.  Hublot has accomplished that here with a nice pairing of predominantly brushed surfaces and a few polished areas to give the case some pop.

Another popular design feature on modern production watches, the skeleton dial.  For this Fusion Aero Chronograph, the "dial" is actually sapphire, with applied gold markers.  The color of the movement plates and bridges are a dark grey.  Grey and gold are like peanut butter and jelly to me - they pair wonderfully.  This dial is quite appealing.

The movement finishing is a bit plain on this model.  I would think applying a dark grey treatment alone would really increase the appeal when viewed from the back.

One of the most iconic design details of Hublot's other lines like the Big Bang and King Power is the modular construction.  This is a like-dislike design point for me.  The like is for the interest and structural look the construction creates.  The dislike is rationalizing that a stacked or component case design can have the same pedigree and longevity as a more traditionally constructed solid case.

The Classic Fusion appeals to me in this regard, as it does away with the kevlar case sides and stacked look of those other Hublot cases.  The crown is well sized, the pushers have a nice shape and feel.

The end result is a very substantial and solid feeling watch.  Opening up things on the dial makes for a unique combination.

Hublot's straps and clasps are universally well received for their comfort.  This one features an alligator skin sewn atop a very pliable rubber.  The clasp combines 18K gold and a PVD stainless steel deployant clasp.  It its wonderfully easy to adjust, secure on the wrist, and most importantly, very comfortable.

Over the years, I have tried on a handful of Hublot watches.  This was the first one that I immediately missed after taking it off.  It is unique, striking, comfortable, and very interesting to look at.  All great attributes of a long term owner.

Thanks again to the wonderful staff of the Hublot Boutique in Bal Harbour, Florida.  Very friendly and super accommodating.

I had hoped others might reply with support for this awesome watch. It really is one of Hublot's finest current offerings, IMO.
