Press Release, Hot from Geneva!

1. Big Bang Ferrari

A fantastic first year of collaboration between Ferrari and Hublot is coming to an end. This has been highly successful, both commercially, with the two first Big Bangs in titanium and Magic Gold - the famous first ever scratch-resistant 18-carat gold invented by Hublot - and promotionally, with more than 130 events. This success is welcomed by Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of Hublot, and Ricardo Guadalupe, the CEO of Hublot, and is already sparking ideas for new models. There are three which are already part of the Big Bang 45 mm family:
The first is the aptly named Big Bang Ferrari "Red Magic Carbon": It is the new symbol of the brand's progress towards verticalisation, with its case and its movement designed, developed, and produced entirely at the Hublot manufacture.
The UNICO movement is designed, developed, machined and assembled by the micro- mechanical engineers, engineers and watchmakers at Hublot. A practical flyback chronograph which can be reset at any time, and which is unique in the watchmaking industry, two push- buttons, with date indicator, and featuring a uniquely positioned mechanism with dual coupling and the famous "column wheel" visible on the dial side. Its development required a completely original approach and thinking outside the box: For example, the hour counter is driven directly by the barrel, and there is no jumper in the chronograph mechanism. This simplification boosts reliability and robustness. Its pallet fork and escapement wheel are fixed to a removable platform and are made from silicon, whose lightness provides a guarantee of performance. Its construction, which incorporates just 330 components, has been simplified as much as possible in order to further increase robustness. This result is the fruit of continual adjustments made since 2009, the year it was launched, which have been carried out jointly by the technical office, the laboratory and the after-sales service in the manufacture. Its frequency of 4hz/28,800 vibrations per hour and its immaculate finish are also a guarantee of high chronometric quality. Finally, its automated production, which includes automation of the machining, stone fitting, oiling and numerous assembly operations also ensures consistent, controlled quality. Its power reserve is around 72 hours.

2. Classic Fusion Extra-Thin Skeleton Black Ceramic

In less than a year, it has become one of Hublot's major bestsellers. It has met with phenomenal success all over the world, in Asia, Europe and the United States. The cornerstone of classic watches at Hublot. An extra-thin skeleton watch, a Classic Fusion whose design has been refined while retaining the dynamic and modern codes immediately recognisable as Hublot. Unveiled at last year's BaselWorld, initially in King Gold and titanium, its latest incarnation boasts a very elegant case fashioned entirely from polished, satin- finished black ceramic: the new Black Ceramic Extra-thin Skeleton Classic Fusion.
With a diameter of 45 mm, this watch is equipped with Hublot's new CLASSICO movement (HUB1300), entirely designed and developed in the brand's manufacture in Nyon. At just 2.90 mm thick, it comprises 130 components which are fabulously showcased by the skeleton design – featuring a resolutely graphic style - which enables expert eyes to admire the watch's regulating organ, the balance and the escapement. On the dial, it is worth noting that the small second at 7 o'clock and the hands are similar in design to those on the very first Hublot watches: a clever reference to the history of the brand. The assembly is complemented by a strap - black alligator stitched onto rubber - and a deployant buckle which ensure it offers the greatest possible comfort, flexibility and durability. The watch is practical on an everyday level, offering a 90-hour power reserve and water resistance to 50 metres.
Striking a remarkable balance between the classic extra-thin design and Hublot's trademark dynamic and modern "all-black" look, this piece is a fine exercise in style, providing a wonderful demonstration of the principle of fusion between Tradition and Modernity.

3. Classic Fusion Skeleton Tourbillon Black Ceramic

A black ceramic skeleton tourbillon watch with a slimmer, more classic profile, but which features an all-black design in line with Hublot's graphic codes. We present the Classic Fusion Black Ceramic Skeleton Tourbillon, one of Hublot's major new arrivals for the start of 2013.
Sleek and contemporary but with a timeless elegance drawn from traditional watchmaking values to create one of the kings amongst complications, this piece is truly striking with its satin-finished and polished black ceramic case and resolutely graphic skeleton tourbillon movement, designed, developed and produced from start to finish in the workshops of the Hublot Manufacture.
On the dial, it is worth noting that the hands are similar in design to those on the very first Hublot watches: a clever reference to the history of the brand. This timepiece benefits from a 120-hour power reserve and is watertight to 30 metres.
With the tourbillon's classic style and the ultramodern, sleek black design, this limited series comprising just 99 numbered pieces perfectly demonstrates the principle of fusing tradition and modernity, outstanding craftsmanship and 21st century creative vision in watchmaking.

4. Classic Fusion Aero Chronograph

The Aero Bang has been one of Hublot's bestsellers since 2007. Now, this “Aero” concept of movement, seen as if airborne through the graphically openworked dial, is available in the Classic Fusion line, the Swiss manufacture's most classic line of watches.
This design both appeals to those wishing to admire the beautiful mechanical intricacies of the calendar chronograph, and also provides greater assurance against counterfeiting, a tendency which is continuing to grow. The motor is now showcased, rather than hidden away.
This elegant model has a diameter of 45 mm with gentle, more rounded lines, two push-buttons on either side of the crown, two counters at 3 o'clock (small second) and 9 o'clock (30-minute) and a date window at 6 o'clock, and is available in two versions: Titanium and King Gold, Hublot's famous red gold which contains 5% platinum, giving it an intense red colour and making it an even more precious metal. The piece is completed by a black alligator strap stitched onto black rubber, ensuring it is flexible, comfortable and exceptionally durable. 42- hour power reserve. Water resistant to 50 metres. These models are also available with a Titanium or King Gold bracelet.

5. Zebra Bang

The call of the jungle continues. After the success of the Leopard Bang and the Boa Bang, it is the turn of the highly fashionable zebra print to dip its hooves. The height of sexiness and cool, zebra print is everywhere. Seen on the catwalks and all the It girls, zebra stripes are the height of fashion this year. With zebra stripes, evening and daytime looks merge into one. With small, subtle accents, such as with the Big Bang Zebra, a 41 mm diameter, black ceramic, ultra-feminine watch, its bezel set with 48 topazes and baguette-cut spinels and its zebra-print dial is showcased by eight small bezel-set diamond to capture the light. Equipped with an automatic mechanical chronograph movement for the connoisseurs, offering practicality with water-tightness to a depth of 100 metres, and finished with a strap made from zebra-print calfskin leather sewn onto black rubber which is both comfortable and flexible, this watch is will set fashionistas' hearts aflutter. This model is also available in 18K red gold, and white ceramic. Limited edition of 250 pieces for each of the three designs.

I really like what Hublot did with these Ferrari Big Bang

 By: AnthonyTsai : January 22nd, 2013-18:10
and it's nice to see the Ferrari horse isn't a yellow colored distraction on the dial like on other past Ferrari watches from other brands. I like how the horse is subtle and doesn't attract that much attention so the watches retain their Big Bang looks. ...

Great report
