Japan I love you
Mar 16, 2011,07:37 AM
"Japan I love you”.
You are the most polite of nations. That is the first thing that strikes those arriving in the Land of the Rising Sun, your extraordinary politeness and respect, your respect for man, the Earth, tradition, culture, hierarchy and progress. You have thousands of years of tradition and the culture you enjoy is rich and highly refined. But you are also at the forefront of technology and progress. Now, more than ever, you are demonstrating those exceptional qualities which we would so like to see shared all over the globe. The example of dignity and restraint that you are setting to the world should stand as a lesson to us all. You have shown such courage and optimism which, paradoxically, further highlights the crisis which has hit your country with such unprecedented violence. Your apparent resilience is, in fact, a sign of your restraint, dignity, and courage. Through it we see the formidable resources that man has to recover and rebuild. Japan I love you. You are an example to us all and to future generations."
