My impressions of Tesla model 3

After driving my son’s for 6 months here’s my comments:
Way too low -easily bottomed out plus if you are tall and older or not agile-it’s a challenge getting in and out! Especially in tight parking situations-the doors are gigantic! Horrible seating position kinda like a go cart!
Too much high tech -( it takes no less than THREE distinct moves -some of which takes your eyes off the road to set the windshield wipers) -virtually every other car has a -one move no look stalk!
Dependency on your cell phone -my daughter got a new cell phone -I had to start the car for her remotely ( whats wrong with a key fob )
What ever you do -don’t loose your adapter so you can plug in to the non-Tesla charging stations.
Oh yes -nothing is intuitive -all the normal controls you expect are someway different -you push the button on the right stalk to put it in park ! Why?
Ok -some positives to be fair: unbelievable power and acceleration -terrific a/c -excellent stereo!
Easily the worst car I ever drove!
Maybe I am a crabby old man but, before you buy -take an extended test drive!!!

its flaws and inconveniences are plentiful. My only first hand experience of it was being driven in it by our moderator PatrickY. He himself admitted to the inherent compromises of the car, but was willing to live with them on the balance of things at the...

The user interface of new cars leave so much to be desired. Even for me, as one of the tech savvy youngsters with a technical occupation, so it's not just you! Mercedes as well is falling into the touchscreen/capacitive touch only trap - I just got an ext...

I have sat in the Y and S but not the 3. The seats are more comfortable than I thought so I dont mind to be a passenger in one. After getting some enthusiastic tutorials from my friends how to move thru the menu, it is not that difficult but just cumberso...

Don't forget the new "pandemic", the range anxiety.... And the loss of Spontaneity , you have to plan or you won't leave home for a long ride... If we deep into additional details, the glass top and the leather seats in a sunny/warm climate is not a good ...

We had the aircon thing in our 2009 Volvo xc90

So not that new. It was comfortable in winter to be able to enter in a already warmed car

It's electric...

...so it's not for me. Full stop. Everything else is redundant.

The steering column-mounted shifter was originally sourced from Mercedes, where it has been used for decades on their automatic non-AMG cars.

If you thought that was bad, the new gen Teslas do away with a shifter altogether and make use of swiping gestures on the touch screen to select D and R. You tap P to park 😄

electric = NO
