perhaps someone sprinkled some bustelo grounds in there to ensure you would need repeat service down the road, just not anticipating it to be so disturbingly obvious.  AP, this is bordering Res Ipsa locquitor.  Because if this story, I feel compelled to repeat that I will never buy an AP.  Refund or new watch ASAP.  And don't even use the pen as a back scratcher.  Sad how that brand charges quite the premium for zero accountability.  Allow me to comment so you won't have to.  Go back to your 3712.  I never had any service issues with Patek, Rolex, jaeger, Cartier, universal, I can keep going...  and this goes beyond the issue of the human element, this is beyond an understandable error.  This is someone frankly not giving a shit.  Your loss of investment could prove an interesting source of action to the right attorney.

I had some bad luck with AP.

 By: dr.kol : November 11th, 2016-11:44
I decided to act like Euronews is acting with some stories just having the headline: NO COMMENTS Before the photos, still a couple of facts: I bought my RO 15202 from an AP Boutique mid January 2015. The watch did not work for many weeks and I took it bac...

The only headline possible when one is beyond words.

How true!

Have a good weekend. Best, Kari

OMG....

 By: Andy : November 11th, 2016-12:02
Well you know my opinion on AP so no further comment required out of courtesy.! Other than this I hope you are all well my friend Andy.

Can you guess what I did?

 By: dr.kol : November 11th, 2016-12:05
I placed both of my AP aside and placed my Ceramic Daytona to my wrist. That watch represents beauty, value and real quality . Far from being rubbish. I really enjoy mine. Best my friend, Kari

I am wearing mine now too....

 By: Andy : November 11th, 2016-12:11
Absolutely love it.....I actually saw another last week at SalonQP, pic on wrist scan Harrods were also surprised to see one which was funny. Have you heard that Tudor are releasing a new piece next week..? Apparently something they do in Nov. Andy.

Not heard but will have a look.

 By: dr.kol : November 11th, 2016-12:21
I got my first Rolex on 26.4.1986 - on the same day Tschernobyl exploded. After that the watch has been serviced three times, in average every 10 years. My nephew is still wearing it often and during these over 30 years there were never the slightest prob...

I've owned only one AP

 By: mpg13 : November 11th, 2016-12:25
That was 15 years ago. An oversized watch with a nice JLC movement. I do like the traditional looking watches they have made. Never cared for the RO, just personal taste. The last few years I've read too many owners horror stories to think about buying on...

Just unbelievable

 By: vitalsigns : November 11th, 2016-12:30
And this is a * luxury* company? I think I would be very tempted to do something like this: Tank My Lemon

I am thinking about options, some of them pretty rude.

 By: dr.kol : November 11th, 2016-13:02
But such watches... no comments. Best, Kari

Do you really think it will hold the ink inside?

 By: dr.kol : November 11th, 2016-13:03
I am sure it would leak and spoil my best suit. Kari

LOL... good one Kari [nt]

 By: Seconds : November 11th, 2016-13:05

Don't laugh!

 By: dr.kol : November 11th, 2016-13:11
I have one or two really nice suits. If I would wear an AP pen in the pocket of my light grey suit and go to a meeting, it would become a disaster. Hey, now I know! With AP pen choose the colour of the suit based on the colour of the ink. Best, Kari

Yes, and funerals. [nt]

 By: dr.kol : November 11th, 2016-21:56

Why would somebody broil fried eggs on an AP movement....

 By: HSTE : November 11th, 2016-12:50
....this is incredible. Keep us up-dated on this one please.

I have no answers, just questions.

 By: dr.kol : November 11th, 2016-13:05
On the other hand; my two RO have been "serviced" 4 times plus movement change. I did not get one single answer from AP. Luckily, a nice master watchmaker explained me some of the problems after having a look without opening the back. Best, Kari

That's unbelievable!!!

 By: dr.kol : November 11th, 2016-13:08
there are watchmakers and watchmakers. We all are different. Is Opel a luxury car? The retailers sell it (nearly) like that. I think luxury is something much more than the old Brand Image. It is also quality and performance. Best, Kari

Fully agree with you Kari

send it to me I'll give it to my watchmaker and for fraction of price you'll have perfect working AP for years... and then you can give me pen

I could easily to give it to a Master Watchmaker

who is working for Patek. However, I am so old fashioned that I believe in a simple concept: AP should settle the mess around things they have produced. A luxury brand... Best, Kari

Of course one must follow his principles

Just PM me your contacts

Lol at Ares – maybe he thinks you’re a scud, Kari.

 By: anonymous09 : November 12th, 2016-10:06
If he doesn’t want to take a chance on the pen, I’d be willing to risk it – taking one for the community and all that…haha.

I'm Professor ;)

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : November 12th, 2016-00:08
Naturally

If you want it, I can give it to you.

 By: dr.kol : November 12th, 2016-00:10
And you can be 100% sure that it's unused. It is not polite to give a present away but I have a little bit of issues tolerating anything which reminds me of Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. Best, Kari

Your watches will be repaired....one way or the other....

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : November 12th, 2016-00:20
and then with cuff links and pen you'll have nice set to enjoy Best

If they will be one day in the condition

 By: dr.kol : November 12th, 2016-00:26
that I can sell them Bona Fide, they will go light lightning. I am an old man already but not as old as Bob a.k.a. Masterpiece from Hawaii. I have NEVER in my life seen similar overall "quality". Not even when I got as my first car a Soviet Lada in 1974. ...

if you don't like the pen you should sell it :) it would recover at least part of the losses :)

 By: christianch : November 12th, 2016-01:27
seriously thou I still think they will replace it or finally fix it one way or another. If not sell the pen

I promised the pen already and if Ares wants it, he gets it.

 By: dr.kol : November 12th, 2016-01:34
I'm in oil & shipping. I do not sell giveaways. It's a nice pen but I am a leftie and I really can't write with ink. Half of the written text will be on my left hand. Best, Kari

Another leftie....

Absolutely appalling

 By: Poky : November 11th, 2016-13:25

They will not, I'm sure.

 By: dr.kol : November 11th, 2016-13:32

I really think you should insist

 By: Poky : November 11th, 2016-13:34
This has put me right off the brand.

I really do not insist.

 By: dr.kol : November 11th, 2016-13:43
My philosophy is that decent people know what is the decent thing to do. Best, Kari

Doubtful of a full refund

 By: Chronocles : November 11th, 2016-13:44
but i hope they manage to make things right replace the entire watch and triple QC the damn watch. Surprised for a company of such standing to have such issue so soon after the repair. Keep your chin up they will do the right thing.

 By: piccolochimico (aka dsgalaxy1) : November 11th, 2016-14:29
I have had several jumbo's, but this new 15202 is supposed to get a yellow gold rotor, while yours doesn't seem to be yellow at all, except for a small part. I am a bit confused. is it any LE?

as he said...."and my personalised oscillating weight".....

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : November 11th, 2016-15:42
maybe that's root of all problems

How can that happen???

 By: Jon17 : November 11th, 2016-21:41
I know AP approves design of the personalised oscillating weight and i doubt they would put one that would do this to the movement? some other reason perhaps.

Like said, the problems started before the personalised oscillating weight

 By: dr.kol : November 11th, 2016-22:17
and I have such a thing in only the other watch. Problems are deeper, much deeper. Best, Kari

The problems started before I got the personalised rotor

 By: dr.kol : November 11th, 2016-21:42
and it was assembled after the watch collapsed for the first time. Kari

That's what i understand...

 By: Jon17 : November 11th, 2016-22:09
thanks for clearing it up, i hope you get a positive response regarding this, saw you QP RO, beautiful watch.

The watch and the concept is stunning!

 By: dr.kol : November 11th, 2016-23:03
But because I like quality, I'm dreaming about a PP Nautilus made of steel with 240Q movement (same as 3940, 5140) and 120 meters WR. That would be stunning! Best, Kari

Kari, as I emailed, this is unacceptable!

 By: MichaelC : November 11th, 2016-15:59
AP should be ashamed about this. Quite embarrassing for them.

The AP people I have met are nice and seem to be very sorry.

Nothing bad to say about them. But the products... Best, Kari

As a new AP owner this account is frightening...

 By: logan2z : November 11th, 2016-16:17
What is that stuff on the movement anyway? Dirt? Oxidation? Hard to tell from the photos. Whatever it is it is totally unacceptable and AP needs to make this right in a hurry.

I do not know what it is

Let's see it from the positive perspective:

 By: dr.kol : November 11th, 2016-22:04

Rereading my message I see that it could have come across a bit blunt which was not my intention. It\'s a real shame to hear about your troubles; for what it\'s worth my 15300 has had to go back to the shop the most often of my (much, much, much) smaller ...

Perhaps because they are bad?

The quality and innovation are gone. It's just a money making machine and nothing wrong if somebody wants to pay the price. But this kind of "luxury" is not for me. Luxury prices, heavy advertising with all "Brand Ambassadors" and Soviet quality... No tha...

Kari very sorry to hear about this and..

 By: christianch : November 12th, 2016-01:25
even if you are right that going legal can be time consuming and frustrating I think that writing a letter and formally requesting a new watch is very acceptable. If they refuse well they will lose in terms of trust of the community. I didn't have problem...

I will not go legal. It's not the way I do.

 By: dr.kol : November 12th, 2016-01:32
I will see what AP will do now. They have two ways: to be decant and act like a real luxury manufacturer or continue their way. Best, Kari

True. I also know a bit maths:

 By: dr.kol : November 12th, 2016-02:16
I own 30-40 PP, a bunch of Rolex and a good bunch of other nice brands. Just two AP. Why is the lightning hitting the same spot 5 times in a row? It's most unlikely if all factors like tall trees are the same. Best Count, Kari

Absolutely unacceptable!

I had terrible experiences with my AP 15202 too. Never been much of a fan of AP until the 15202 came out. Within 30 mins after getting the watch from my friendly AD, I noticed that the watch was slow despite a good wind before it left the shop. I shook th...

Sounds so familiar!

Probably it's easy for a while to sell anything based on the old reputation. But it's easier to loose the reputation than gain it. Best, Kari

indeed Kari!

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate experiences and hope the road ahead will be smooth and without further issues

Lange is a great manufacturer.

I just have sometimes issues with their design. It's naturally a matter of taste, nothing else. Best, Kari

Poor QC

I can't imagine what is going on inside some of their watches without the crystal case back.

True! [nt]

Ah for Christ’s sake, Kari – this whole escapade has become a joke (albeit one without a witty punchline)!

 By: anonymous09 : November 12th, 2016-10:11
I provided you with info previously, which you may have already been privy to – if not, then use it. If this is the result of less than a week’s usage, then I’m at a complete loss as to just what exactly AP were during for two months, citing ‘extended tes...

Please remember that I bought two brand new watches one after the other.

 By: dr.kol : November 12th, 2016-11:09
I liked them both and that was the reason why I bought them. All I wanted is that the watches function like they should in their price class. If both have failed immediately after purchase once and AP had repaired them, I would have been relatively okay w...

Aaaah AP. I bought a battery operated ROO for my wife and within 3 months we have problems with the watch fogging despite it having never been in contact with water

 By: CaptainCrunch : November 12th, 2016-22:10
Or opened for time adjustment. Even though the warranty is international, they won\'t accept to take in watch for service while I was in Europe. Had to be done in Singapore. Watch was heavily fogging for one month before we had a chance to go to Singapore...

I have spent many hours in SG Service Centre.

 By: dr.kol : November 12th, 2016-22:20
Not the most inspiring place to waste the time. I can't understand why you could not fix your wife's watch anywhere in the world. I thought the warranty is always international. Best, Kari

I very much agree. [nt]

Wow

Sad to see this kind of customer care from AP. I always thought they were good. I understand that sometimes watches break, but to have it serviced and returned like that is disgraceful. Now I'm writing off AP as another watch I was interested in. First FP...

I am also amazed.

 By: dr.kol : November 13th, 2016-03:36
Lange is a fantastic watch but I know nothing about their customer care. Perhaps because I never had any issues of even one Lange. Today my priorities are Patek, Lange, Rolex, JLC... and naturally Tudor as "cheap" beaters. Best, Kari

Simply appalling!

 By: Rhyzen : November 13th, 2016-05:36
The saddest thing is that even if they finally managed to settle this issue, you will always remember the terrible experience whenever you see the watch. AP has lost not just a valued client like you, but driven off prospective owners.

I know and really wonder the way they conduct the business.

 By: dr.kol : November 13th, 2016-05:56
I would sell the perpetual in a minute after finding a buyer but the fact that the Certificate of Origin is not matching with the watch, would probably drop the price too much. Sad. Best, Kari

Sorry for that.

 By: dr.kol : November 14th, 2016-10:29
I personally can take one bad experience but several on a row with too watches start to be tuff. Best, Kari

What the....?

I really shocked and sorry for your experience, I'm sorry I just wanted to ask, and pardon me if, perhaps, it sounds pretty rude... That service center in SG, is it "Service Center" or "Authorized" Service Center? Really what a quality of service! I've ju...

Audemars Piguet Service Centre Singapore

is the main service point of South East Asia. In other words they should be more capable that the service centres in individual countries. Best, Kari

Wow....

Perhaps it's time for them to go take refreshment course on WOSTEP? They'll be in a pinch if they served these kind of quality on the school to the mentors... And yes I agree about they should've been better in it, as it really really affecting their imag...
